OBITUARY - Bob Upham

Bob providing live music in 2003

It is sad to have to report the sudden death of BOB UPHAM who died on 3rd October 2009.
He had led an unusual life having excelled in sciences at school. He joined the army at age 18 where he learned to play the ukelele and trumpet. He had five years experience in motor cycle road racing on a Triumph Tiger with some success at Silverstone and later gained a degree in industrial engineering. He also served as a Liberal memebr of Hart council.
With his wife Beatrice he ran a successful nursery and flower shop in Frimley.
Bob joined our video club in the mid nineties and each year donated a plant as a prize for "the wackiest film of the year". He collected a vast array of old 16mm films and projectors in his home in Yateley and entertained club members with music on his keyboard.
Bob will be sadly missed as a member and friend.
