CHAIRMAN'S CHAT

Last year I introduced this letter as the "start of my third and final year as Chairman". Since then quite a lot has happened and I found that my departure would leave the Club without an elected Chairman.

I have therefore offered my services for a fourth year on the understanding that another member comes forward to take up the role at the AGM in 2005. I am delighted to welcome Geoff Addis to the post of Vice Chairman and hope you will give him your support as we move through this season.

I am pleased we can look forward to the coming season with confidence and enthusiasm. In this respect I would like to welcome a few people to the Club.

First a warm welcome back to all the Members from the summer season break. We all hope that the record buttons have been active and we can look forward to a season of memorable productions. Last year's success will be a hard act to follow but we have raised the bar to new standards year after year, so why not now?

I would like to also convey a very warm welcome to new members. I hope you will settle in quickly to the RFVM atmosphere and enjoy taking part in Club activities. Most of all I hope you can learn from other members, pass on your expertise and enjoy the hobby that brings us all together.

Finally can I welcome my fellow Committee members, particularly the new recruits Geoff, Phil and Andy. Your help and effort on behalf of all the members is very much appreciated.

I hope we can continue the forward progress on which the Club has a widespread reputation. On that we depend on each other.

I wish everyone a very rewarding and enjoyable season.
