What a Premiere Night! The best ever!

Anyone turning up for their first Reading Oscars night cannot have failed to be impressed with the sense of occasion, the fun, the friendly atmosphere and the excellence of the videos being shown. Even those of us who come along every year were taken aback at the sheer professionalism of this year's event. To those who could not join us - you really missed a treat!

Old style press photographers pounced on guests as they arrived. The impressive Reading Film & Video Makers Oscar Night Displays, the Hollywood posters, the "queue here for 2/9 & 1/9 tickets signs, the black and white balloons, the special menus, and live film music played by John Snow and the guests dressed in dinner jackets, long dresses and Hollywood style outfits all added to the glamour of the occasion. Our Chairman Neil had given much thought and care on how the award winning videos should be staged and the awards presented. His computer added presentations and his humorous references to famous film was just the icing on the cake.

To me this is a shinning example of why Reading Film & Video Makers continue to be such a successful club. The direct result of good leadership, real teamwork and support by the members. Congratulations to everyone concerned, it was a night to remember. We belong to a club to be proud of.
