CHURCH WINE CLUB

I would like to start a wine club at St Andrew's to meet perhaps once a month in the hall, or if the numbers are quite small, at 208 Upper Woodcote Road.

My qualifications for this are that Betty and I have toured the vineyards of France for nearly twenty years sampling a variety of wines in miscellaneous cellars.

We were members of a wine club before we came to Caversham, and I have led tastings at Keele University conferences where I was a member of the Senior Common Room Wine Committee, and selected the wines for sponsors' dinners for the Keele Concerts Society.

I also attended many tastings provided by a master of wine at Tanner's. I am a member of the Wine Society and was a national finalist in the Daily Telegraph Wine and Food Competition in 1994. I have been asked to do some tastings for the local Oxford Society branch and the Reading branch of the Institute of Management.

Running a series of tastings would not only provide income for the church hall, but also, hopefully, some money for various charities with which I am connected and for the church.
(The above invitation to RFVM members is from Mark Pargeter Telephone: 0118 9472883 - address is 208 Upper Woodcote Road Caversham Reading RG4 7JW - the cost is £10 per occasion)
