IAC and the IOV

Every RFVM Club member really ought to think seriously about joining the IAC. Being a member of the IAC puts you in touch with what is going on.

IAC membership also means you can obtain licences from the Mechanical - Copyright Protection Society Ltd for just £5.13 per annum, the British Photographical Industry for £1.41 and the Phonographic Performance Licence for just 63p! This is the only way you can obtain such licences at such low prices. These enable you to use commercial music in your productions and to keep within the law.

In addition to a regular and informative magazine the IAC provides a route to obtaining accreditation for your abilities. You can become a Licentiate reaching the required standard by entering an IAC competition. If you are seeking even higher accreditation you can send a selection of your work to the IAC to be assessed for a Fellowship Master Movie Maker. Our President has already achieved this distinction. So there are a lot of good reasons for joining the IAC.

The professionals also have Institutes to support their activities. One of them is the Institute of Videography (IOV). They have an annual trade show, which is well worth a visit [you don't have to be a member to go]. The next show is at The National Motorcycle Museum on 2-3 May 2001. There is free entrance to pre-registered visitors. You can register on line at.www.iov.co.uk.
Go along - it's worth the effort.
