Appeals for helpThe makers of the internationally acclaimed ITV television series' "The Second World War in Colour" and "Britain at War in Colour" are looking to the public to help them in the making of the next series "The British Empire in Colour". Using original colour footage and narrated by letters and diaries written at the time, "The British Empire in Colour" will present an intimate picture of life under British rule in the 20th Century. We are urgently seeking ANY colour film / home movies from 1910 to 1970. Broadly speaking we are considering anything which reflects any aspect of everyday life in the British Isles and especially in the Colonies during this period. At this stage, we are asking people not to send us anything, but to make contact with us and provide details of anything they think we might find interesting. We will then arrange for films and documents to be sent to us by courier, and returned in the same way. We are appealing to the public to have a look and see if they have
any colour film tucked away somewhere. In this regard, we feel that
the members of your cine club could contribute significantly to the
making of this programme. Georgena McGahey of Dual Purpose productions:As the Queen's Golden Jubilee approaches, Channel Four are marking
the occasion with a special one off documentary. We are currently
on the look out for all those film/video enthusiasts who have managed
to capture royal visits or events over the years. If you know if any
of your members would be likely to have any footage be it VHS, Super
8 or any other format, then we would be interested to hear from you. |
