EDITORIAL - Peter DawesThe summer seems to have passed very
quickly this year, as it is almost the start of the new season of evening
meetings.
The committee has met on two occasions mainly to discuss the coming months, and Mark and Neil have been working hard as you will see from the provisional programme. This year we have tried to arrange a competition each month so that there is time to work on your next entry - but no doubt - I will as usual, leave it till the last moment. Apart from the usual competitions don't forget our summer project "A Nice Day Out". If you have not done anything so far, there is still plenty of time. It doesn't have to be a fine sunny day; it could be a bad wet day. Perhaps but you have had a Nice Day Out at an indoor location? Calum is gradually settling into the position of our new treasurer, so put a date in your diary for Tuesday 12 September [our opening night] when the committee look forward to meeting you all again to make this season as enjoyable as those in the previous years. London EyeThe coach has been booked for Sunday 1st October and so far we have 19 members and friends who have taken the seats. We do have just 1 seat still available, so if you would like to come, get in touch with me ASAP. It may be possible to get an extra seat or two if there is still any left with Reading Buses. If you haven't yet paid please send your cheque to me. I will be contacting all participants in the near future regarding time and pick up. The booked time on the wheel is 11.30 however there is sometimes a delay due to loading and off-loading of the passengers. |
