Welcome to the 1999-2000 season of club evenings which commences on TUESDAY 14th SEPTEMBER at 8:00pm, with several new faces at the helm and a new look magazine of which Laurie Joyce and I are joint editors.

At the A.G.M. there were several blanks on the committee and the future looked rather glum, but I am pleased to say these have now been filled, that is not to say we would turn down any further offers of help, we would wclcomc you. I have taken over as Secretary, Bob Hutchinson with the help of Mark Chapman is Programme Secretary and Don Currie is host to the visiting speakers.

Our grateful thanks to the retiring members of the committee Margaret and Dennis, Mark and Jane for all the work they have put into the dub in the past, no doubt I will still be asking Margaret questions on how to do things. Our thanks also to Brian who has donated this horrible machine I am attempting to conquer to print this magazine, as well as other club matters.

Laurie and I are goirig to try and produce this magazine about every 8-10 weeks during the season, giving information on future events as well as reports on what is going on, not only within the club but at the various outside competitions we hope club members will enter and report on.

If you have any sales or wants then let us know and we can put these into the magazine.

You will see one article is called Club Portrait. Laurie put forward a series of 15 questions which Bruce and I answered in the form of an article.We hope to feature at least one in every magazine so 1 hope you will co-operate. This then should give us at least one article for each issue for the next 7 years, I think it's called 'forward planning'. So send in your articles to either Laurie or myself, don't worry if you arc not very good at writing, give us the details and we will write something up for you. The next magazine we hope will be out around mid-November. 1 would hate to call the next issue "Out of Focus" for the lack of imput.
