CHAIRMAN'S CHAT - Brian Hibbitt"Another opening, another show'.
is the opening line of the famous song. md heic we are close to the
beginning of yet another season for the Reading Film and Video Makers.T'his
year ot' course takes us into the new millennium and it is fitting that
we will have an exciting and interesting programme of events planned
for you. Thanks to Bob Hutchinson our new programme secretary, ably
assisted by Mark Chapman, they have already lined up a strong list of
guest speakers, practical evenings and of course our ever popular club
competitions, to ensure that every Tuesday evening at the club is one
that you will not want to miss.
It is also my pleasure to be writing in the inaugural issue of our new format club magazine, which I hope you will enjoy. This is our first major change for the new millennium and is the brainchild of our new secretary Peter Dawes. Our objective is to bring you up to date in.fonnation about the club and its activitics together with background articles of interest from you the members, so although it is a bit early to be making new year resolutions can I ask that you do support Peter in his new endeavours, since without input from the members there is no magazine. Needless to say I look forward to welcoming you all back to our first meeting of the new season on Tuesday 14th September. when we will have the opportunity of discussing our plans for the coming season in more detail. ***************************** Jane Smart had her video 'Rat Race' shown on Meridian Free Screen recently. Bernard unfortunatly had his video 'The Intruder" rejected by
Meridian, they were concerned that the showing of someone creeping
about in the dark, and the knife stabbing may be disturbing to people
who live on their own. Bernard you must stop making these sex and
violence films or Mary Whitehouse will be after you!! |
