The Programme Co-ordinator is an important job that brings together the speakers, competitions, presentations and workshops into a successful season of weekly meetings.

INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE WEEK 1
WELCOME AND WELCOME BACK! Memberships hopefully prepaid. Old friends and new members congregate to welcome the newcomers, understand their needs, and enjoy some nibbles. Course starts and others watch some award winning films in small hall
Tues 20th Sept INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE WEEK 2 Course & members together in large hall – Getting creative – Laurie Joyce presents a workshop style evening on creativity and how to spark Ideas.
Tues 27th Sept INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE WEEK 3 Course in Large hall & Story boarding with Nichola in the small hall.
Tues 4th Oct INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE WEEK 4

Course & members in Large Hall together.  For the first half of the evening Brian will teach us about adding titles to films, followed by Instruction from David Gregory on how to create DVD’s and different files for viewing on various platforms, and Leon will explain how to add films to You-Tube and other internet platforms.

Tues 11th Oct INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE WEEK 5 Course in Large hall & Members in small hall with David Purves. Three teams will be using the techniques learned in previous weeks to plan for the green screen evening on 15th November
Tues 18th Oct INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE WEEK 6 Course wind-up with screening of new members Intro Films.  Also the presentation of course certificates.

Our annual competition against Staines and Bourne End hosted by Reading at 8pm.

Tues 8th Nov GUEST SPEAKERS Tom’s Variety Show is CANCELLED - REPLACED by Jan and Dave Watterson with a talk about 3D films and a demonstration by Kate Sullivan using her 3D camera rig
Tues 15th Nov PRACTICAL Practical Green screen evening with David Purves
Tues 22nd Nov THE GROSVENOR TROPHY Our annual competition for summer project films (max 15 mins) made by club members
Tues 29th Nov GUEST SPEAKER Guest speaker Kate Dooley, a past member of the club, and now a successful self-shooting Producer Director working in the television industry; she visits us to share her knowledge, and show us some examples of her work

Tues 10th Jan GUEST SPEAKER Michael Beddoes is a director, writer and producer. His films have been selected for over 40 film festivals and picked up a number of awards. He joins us for the evening to share his knowledge and show some of his short films

Pre-Production planning & storyboarding of shots for outside venue shoot.  This year we are close to home. St Andrews have kindly agreed to let us film inside the main church
Tues 24th Jan Competition night BURKE TROPHY for the best 10-min film or video made by a club member who has not previously won a club competition, + CAVERSHAM CUP for the best 1-min film or video

Tues 28th Feb TECHNICAL Colour Correcting – David Gregory will teach us about colour grading films and how to get that cinematic effect

How to make a You-Tube show - Karen will share her knowledge of what’s involved, the challenges of getting sponsorship, and the importance of social media

Tues 14th Mar BERNARD BAREHAM FICTION TROPHY Our annual competition for the best story film or video (max 15-minutes)
Tues 21st Mar TECHNICAL Making a Music video - Local singer Israel Oneriode will be performing a song for us at the hall and we’ll be filming him to create an accompanying video – song details will be provided in advance
Tues 28th Mar GUEST SPEAKER Christina Fox  – Christine worked as a camerawoman for the BBC for 11 years. She now has her own company Urban Fox TV offering training courses for companies and individuals. Her clients include BBC, ITV, The Press association, and MTV,  to name but a few

Tues 25th Apr GUEST SPEAKER Andy Bustin shares his stories of life as a supporting artiste. Andy has worked as an extra in films, television and adverts. His repertoire includes the film World War Z, Midsomer Murders, Lucky Man, and Boomers
FRI 28th Apr READING PREMIERE NIGHT We invite our friends and families to see the highlights of our year and present our awards at the Reading Golf Club. With this being our Diamond anniversary, it will be a red carpet event!
