Welcome to new and old members to another packed season. New joiners for our training course will be able to define their particular needs
Tues 21st Sept Lighting and sound Geoff Addis will give us an introduction to video lighting, sound and pre-production planning
Tues 28th Sept PRACTICAL Filming a promotional video for club website, a practical exercise with a clear end objective
Tues 5th Oct THE CURRIE CUP Our annual competition for the best four minute film or video
Tues 12th Oct Location, Location, Location Our guest speaker, Julia Morpeth joins us to talk about the challenge of where to shoot that film scene
Tues 19th Oct GATEWAY TROPHY TRIANGLE COMPETITION
Its our turn to host this annual competition against the Staines and Bourne End clubs at our Reading venue
Tues 26th Oct Guest speaker Rodney Hayward of the Casualties Union visits us to talk about and demonstrate the specialist task of injury make up
Tues 2nd Nov Bring a guest and spread the word Francis will present a film show including some archive material
Tues 9th Nov Competition night THE BURKE TROPHY for the best ten minute film or video made by a club member who has not previously won a club competition, plus THE
CAVERSHAM CUP for the best one minute film or video
Tues 16th Nov Guest speakers

Jan and Dave Watterson much respected leading figures in the IAC join us to talk about “Reading Film – making sense”.

Tues 30th Nov Films I'd be proud to have made Phil Martin will talk about his wish list of iconic films. PLEASE note access to hall is only via the front door as the church is having a social and using the kitchen
Tues 7th Dec Filming challenge We can’t have access to the Hall this week because it is being used for a Blood Donor session. Meet outside John Lewis at 8pm and then film Christmas lights in Reading

knowledge and experience means this is an
evening not to be missed
Tues 15th Feb Lighting Stills photographers take lighting very
seriously and so do professional film makers,
but your average videographer tends to make
do with whatever is there. Lighting can make a
dramatic improvement to your productions so
don’t miss Geoff Addis’s practical lighting talk

experience with of the role of music in films
Tues 1st Mar BERNARD BAREHAM FICTION TROPHY Our annual competition for the best story
film or video. Submit ALL entries to the Bournes cup on DVD for external judging.

Tues 29th Mar THE BOURNES CUP Jan and Dave Watterson will judge and give much valued critique to each entry for the 2010 RFVM annual open competition for the best film or video. Please note that films and video will need to be forwarded to them up to a month earlier to allow time for judging. So don’t leave your editing too late!
